Roof Replacement in Port Deposit, MD
GAF® Timberline® HDZ® in Biscayne Blue on an early-1900s home

Project Overview
This early-1900s home in Port Deposit needed a full roof replacement, and it was a pretty involved one. We tore off two layers of old shingles down to the deck, then replaced a lot of the decking with new OSB sheathing so the new roof has a solid base.
The new roof is GAF® Timberline® HDZ® shingles in Biscayne Blue. We also installed new white ventilated soffit, Heritage Blue 6-inch K-style gutters with gutter guards, and capped all of the rake areas in new white performance metal.
Why Homeowners Upgrade
Older homes often have more than one layer of shingles and decking that has worn out over the years. A full tear-off lets the crew see and fix the deck instead of covering problems up. Vented soffit helps the attic breathe, gutter guards cut down on clogged gutters, and metal-capped rakes protect the edges of the roof. Together, they make the whole roof system work better and last longer.
